Year round day care from birth to 4 years old
Set in a Grade II listed building, the Old Town Hall in Aldershot, Hampshire. Fully refurbished retaining many original features perfect for our ethos, The Curiosity Approach. We have created a homely environment with bright and airy rooms, separate messy play areas, a cosy sleep room and a secure outdoor play space.
The nursery
At our nursery, we believe childhood should be filled with wonder, exploration, and joy. From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel the difference — with a secure entrance from our private off-street car park, leading into a bright, spacious reception and beautifully designed rooms.
Each of our rooms is thoughtfully set up to support child-led play, with plenty of natural light and dedicated spaces for imagination, creativity, and discovery. Our role play areas are filled with authentic, fascinating resources that ignite curiosity and inspire little ones to explore in their own way.
We know that every child needs moments of calm too, so we’ve created cosy reading corners with soft cushions, blankets, and a wide choice of books — perfect for relaxing, reading, or taking a quiet moment.
Messy play is a big part of our day! From sand and water to shaving foam, flour, and bubbles, children are encouraged to dive in and enjoy rich sensory experiences. We always say: please don’t send them in their best clothes!
Our nursery is home to up to 60 children aged from birth to 4 years, all cared for by a passionate, experienced team who create magical experiences every single day. No two days are the same — we’re here to inspire, nurture and create those special wow moments that stay with children for life.

Mixed age groups
At Poppies Day Nursery we believe in the benefits of mixed age groups. As Maria Montessori said “Observation: Younger children learn by watching older children as well as adults. In a mixed-age classroom, older children who are completing challenging lessons are an example to the younger children; they show what is possible.”
The Curiosity Approach
All of our nurseries follow The Curiosity Approach, a modern day approach that fits perfectly in current changing technological times. Bringing curiosity, awe and wonder into early childhood & creating the ‘thinkers & doers’ of the future. The Curiosity Approach® is a modern day approach to Early Childhood. It’s a beautiful recipe book of wonderful ingredients, carefully mixed together with experience, passion and a love of Early Childhood.
